Mismatched
The series is centred around postwar social housing constructed by WBG (Wohnungsbaugesellschaft) – a housing association, in Langwasser-Nord, one of Nuremberg’s working-class neighbourhoods. Each building within the complex is clad with tiles of various pastel tones. With their distinctive appearance, these buildings stand out, becoming memorable landmarks in the neighbourhood. The replacement of damaged tiles with different colours not only serves a practical purpose but also gives rise to an unexpected tapestry, born out of sheer functional necessity.
